Wrap It Like the Pros – Inconel 625 Sheet for Ultimate Exhaust Heat Protection

If you're building a fast street car, track toy, or off-road beast, you know heat is the enemy. Our Inconel 625 IncShield sheets gives you a professional-grade way to tackle it—right in your own garage.

Used in motorsports and aerospace, Inconel 625 is a superalloy built for extreme heat and harsh environments. When teamed up with ceramic insulation, it becomes the ultimate outer skin to wrap exhaust pipes, headers, turbo manifolds, and downpipes, cutting radiant heat in your engine bay and protecting everything around it.

  • Handles Serious Heat: No worries about melting or cracking—Inconel stands strong under extreme exhaust temps.

  • Easy to Shape: It’s easy to cut, bend, and form by hand or with basic tools to fit snugly around pipes and tricky corners.

  • Weldable: Spot weld pieces together to create a rigid, hard shell around your insulation – clean, strong, and pro-looking.

  • Tough as Nails: Resists corrosion, rust, and road grime. Perfect for daily drivers, weekend warriors, and full-blown track builds.

  • Built for Custom Setups: Whether you're wrapping a full exhaust or building a one-off turbo heat shield, this is the material you want.

Upgrade your heat shielding with the same tech used in top-tier race cars – no fancy shop needed. With IncShield sheet in your toolbox, your DIY build just got a serious edge.

How do I shape Inconel heat shields?

Car Builders Inconel is exceptionally thin at just 0.13 mm, making it formable and ideal for applications like headers, exhausts, and turbo manifolds. To tackle more complex shapes, start by creating paper templates—this helps break down intricate forms into manageable pieces.
With a few basic tools such as tin snips, hammers, and shrinking pliers, you can effectively manipulate the Inconel—gathering, stretching, and shifting the material to work neatly around curves and corners.

How do I weld Inconel heat shields?

Our Inconel heat shields are extremely thin at just 0.13 mm, meaning they require minimal heat to weld effectively. The most reliable and accessible method we've found is spot welding. This can be accomplished using simple tools like a dent puller-style spot welder or even a modified MIG welder.
To convert a MIG welder for spot welding, remove the wire feed and reshape the tip into a pointed or chisel form. With low amperage settings, this setup becomes an effective contact spot welder. It's a practical solution that enables even the average DIY enthusiast to produce clean, precise welds and create high-quality Inconel components.
